Sweet Cadence Joy turned one on April 24. I can't believe it's been a whole year since she was born. When I was pregnant with her, I tried my best to enjoy it as I knew it was my last pregnancy. I was so happy when she was born. She was a whopping 8 pounds 13 oz. and not the easiest of natural births. :) But I did it and we feel so blessed that she joined our family.
I love watching her sleep.
I love nursing her and watching as her eyes start to slowly close until her entire face is buried.
I love watching her dance naked with her little squat legs and those Michelin Man thighs.
I love watching her with her sisters and how much they love her.
I love paying such close attention to all the new things she is learning and celebrating every milestone.
I love her big blue eyes and soft, soft cheeks.
She can blow kisses, say Buh Bye (in the sweetest voice ever) and mamamamama, wave her hand backwards, FLY up the stairs, walk about 3 steps, and crawl like a demon. She loves eggs and hates her car seat. She loves being on top of her daddy's shoulders and hanging onto his hair for dear life. She loves all the pictures around our house and kissing them. She has 2 teeth on the bottom and 1 on the top.
And apparently...she loves cake.

And she can eat again!!
We've been going out to eat on a fairly regular basis with my brother, his son and daughter and my Dad on Thursday nights. Generally we go somewhere fast and easy and then head over for ice cream. This past Thursday, we went to Skyline Chili. For those who are from Cincinnati, you'll definitely know this restaurant. It's a staple of our diets pretty much and also known as "Cincinnati chili" for those of you not from here. Of course we need to then pair the chili with ice cream from Graeters. I literally sought out Graeters all over Washington until I found it FINALLY at a grocery store about 45 min. from where we lived on Bainbridge. They have THE BEST french pot ice cream!
Anyway at dinner, Sophia bit into a hot dog and out popped her tooth which has been literally dangling there for over a week. There was celebration all around and she wrote a note to the tooth fairy to please leave her tooth (as well as the money). She got a gold $1 coin from the tooth fairy and was so excited about it!
Now she can finally eat real food again! I've been asking her to say, "Stick" all day and it cracks me up every time.

New Font and Locket for Mother's Day! BIG COUPON!
I'm so enjoying being back here in my hometown close to my mom. My mom who is such an inspiration to me. She owns her own business selling jewelry all over town - she's known as The Silver Lady. She is a wonderful mother, always making time for me and my problems and always thinking of us and checking in almost every day. She thinks about the smallest of minute details and is so thoughtful always bringing gifts just because. We just had dinner the other night and she brought me a box of pansies to plant outside my house just to be nice!! She has always been super stylish and put together - sometimes hard to have a mom that looks so fantastic all the time, but the older I get, the more I appreciate it. It's so fun that now I can just call her up and say, "Hey, want to have dinner or lunch today?" Something I couldn't do for years when we lived so far away. She is really enjoying having a new relationship with my children and especially being able to watch Cadence grow up from a baby. I love you MOM!!
